Phil Wilson has been on air for more than 30 years, presenting radio shows, interviewing music stars, celebrating vinyl records and creating entertainment for listeners and viewers across the North East of England and beyond.

30+ Years Behind The Microphone

Phil’s love of radio began at the age of four with a Corgi Frisco Disco, complete with microphone and headphones. That early fascination with broadcasting became a lifelong passion.

Phil began broadcasting on FM in 1993 at Centre FM, based at the Metro Centre in Gateshead, presenting various shows, news, traffic news, breakfast and drivetime. His radio journey has also included Gateshead Community Radio, Network FM, Tyne FM and many other stations.

Author & Storyteller

Away from broadcasting, Phil is also an author. His books include Jenny’s Millions, Blake’s 3, Stair Number 8 and several children’s titles including Christmas Cupboard Under The Stairs and As I Got On The Bus Today.

His books will be reviewed and refreshed in a future phase of Phil.Rocks.
